How I spent my Monday night

Yet another of our dearest climbing friends is leaving us for greener pastures, better work, better boulders, and sunnier weather… but we had one last hurrah with the Chad-meister last night at the Poulsbo Boulder. Seriously, guys – you did all this work to dig the thing out and clean it – you have got to do a topo so that nobody else steals your FAs. The Vertical World A-team met for a real bouldering session at the beautiful little boulder discovered by some local boulderers last year, and I have to say, it far exceeded my expectation.

Now, we did boulder — not super serious, obviously (sorry guys – the one with you two looking studly didn’t turn out – so the funny one had to go on the blog). But, it was super fun. If mantle practice is what you want, this is the place. Otherwise, there’s fantastic variety – one overhanging, traditionally bouldery face with edges and slopers; one nice vertical face with edges and good holds on top (and a fantastic sit start, once you get over yourself and try it), and generally just a lovely place to spend the first 60+ degree evening of the season. Thank you, Mr. Chad… I can’t wait to come visit in Arizona……
